CARTAGENA
The Cathedral of Cartagena, officially known as the Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, was designed by Simón González, modeled after basilicas in the Canary Islands and Andalusia.
In 1586, while the church was under construction, it was attacked by the English sea captain, Francis Drake, which caused serious damage and delayed its completion, which occurred until 1612!
