St. Angelo Bridge

ROME 🇮🇹

Originally named the ‘Aelian Bridge’ or ‘Pons Aelius’, St. Angelo Bridge is a Roman bridge completed by Emperor Hadrian.

On the balustrade, nine angels are on display holding different materials related to the crucifixion of Jesus, such as the crown of thorns, the sudarium, the whips, and the cross itself.
