The Financial District

NEW YORK CITY 🇺🇸

Financial District, Manhattan

Lower Manhattan’s Financial District, often known as FiDi, is a district at New York City’s southern point on Manhattan island.  The Financial District was established in 1624, and the area largely coincides with the limits of New Amsterdam in the late 17th century.

The New York Stock Exchange and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York are just two of the numerous significant financial organizations that call this region home. New York Metropolis has been referred to as both the world’s most financially powerful city and the world’s leading financial center.

By market capitalization, the New York Stock Exchange is the largest stock exchange in the world. The New York Mercantile Exchange, NASDAQ, the New York Board of Trade, and the previous American Stock Exchange all have or had headquarters in the Financial District.
